Description of Class
In this workshop we will discuss where to find government agencies that are 8(a) friendly and how to research their budget to tap into the contract opportunities before they are published. We will demonstrate the process of using the internet to research government agencies and their departments for potential contracts and contacts information.
We will cover the process of leveraging your 8(a) certification into more government contracts. As you should be aware the 8(a) program is not an entitlement program. Just because you got certified does not mean you will automatically get government contracts. What you get is an opportunity to find contracts and have them it set aside for you as long as you meet the requirements of the federal agencies and SBA.
We will review how to meet the five key people in all government agency:
Small Business Liaison Office
Buyer
Contracting Officer
Program Managers
End Users
Each of these people have there own expectations on what a qualified vendor looks like and we will coach you on how to deal with each one for the best results.
We will teach you how to identify your competition and present yourself in person and in writing in such away that you will be considered the best value for that agency. We will also take you through the process of teaming and working with a mentor to win larger contracts.
