FAQ’s consulting fees, billing and contracting

The Small Business Consulting Agency is a For-profit corporation, incorporated in 2001 within the State of California.

Fees
Our hourly rate is $200.00 per hour billed in half hour increments for Project assignments. “Ask SBCA”, our Telephone, FAX and E-mail consultation services rate is $200.00 per hour billed in 1/4 of an hour increments. Our Packaging Services are proposed on a fixed fee depending on the complexity of the packaging service

How will we be billed?
All projects require 50% deposit to start the project and the balance upon completion of the project. Our “Ask SBCA” is billed to your credit card within 24 hours of conclusion of the communications. Our Packaging Services are prepaid services.

Will SBCA work on a percentage of our sales increase?
Our clients pay us for the time and expertise involved in providing the service offered. Not for the level of risk involved in the competition. That is your risk factor, not ours. We have found that businesses that want to pay by percentage don’t really want to pay and do not value our work. We have been presented with this scenario many times and have found that the cost to the client to pay for our services would often be one-tenth the cost of paying a percentage.

If our business needs change or financial situation changes, can we terminate a contracted project?
Clients can cancel any project with written notice. We will only charge you for those activities completed before written notification. All labor and expenses will be calculated up to the termination date and billed with “Net 30 days terms”.

What do you require to begin an assignment?
We require Memo of Understanding (MOU) or a Retainer Agreement (RA) signed by an executive of the company and a deposit of 50%.

How soon can you start a new project?
This varies by the project and our workload, but we begin most projects within two weeks after receiving notice to proceed.
